Exquisite Chocolates

I've already done a post on chocolates before but I love them so much I thought I would do another one. The other chocolates were from Koko Black and were quite nice. But these chocolates are from Patchi, located in Melbourne Central.

The Koko Black chocolates are thin shells of chocolate with different centres. Most of the centres were too sweet and not that good. You couldn't really taste the quality of the chocolate. These chocolates from Patchi are just pure chocolate, milk and dark, with different nuts or creams made from nuts. They're extremely expensive, $110 per kilogram, and I always flip flop between thinking they're not worth it and then thinking they're worth it. The chocolates are so smooth and rich without being sugary and overpowering. At those moments when I'm eating them, I think its money well spent, because one or two a day will satisfy me. However, when I'm not eating them, I think that spending about $1.50 - $2 for a tiny piece of chocolate is such a waste. I could do so much more with that money, I could nearly buy a whole block of Cadbury chocolate. Oh well, I guess we have to indulge ourselves every once in a while. It's not like I'm eating these chocolates all the time. Just every month or two when I go and buy them.

Above: Little bars of silver and gold chocolate bars from Patchi.

I understand how you feel, because I go through the same struggles too, especially when you have been brought up by a wonderful papa who taught us to share whatever little luxury or excess we may have.

Once I was chided by sis when I told her that I enjoy going to the OCBC bank because the moment you enter, rich aroma of Spinelli coffee will greet you ! I cannot bring myself to buy even a cup of $4.50 coffee when I can get one for 80 cents in our local coffeeshop.

Don't worry. When you visit Singapore, I will give you a nice, big treat. When I entertain, I'm not stingy lah!! Only on myself.

How much? For chocolate! They do look nice I must admit but you MUST be a real choccie lover to pay that amount either that or you are earning too much money Thanh. Give me a big bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk any day and I'll be happy.

Of course I haven't tasted the chocolate so if it really is that nice then its your money isn't it? Just seems a bit much but I suppose I haven't got a sweet tooth when it comes to chocolates and stuff. Im not fussed on dark chocolate at all but I do luuuurve Cadburys. So I guess Im not much of a judge or much of a chocolate connoisseur!

Whatever floats your boat mate.

I'm the same as you Choo, my parents always say whatever you can eat is a blessing. You can't take money with you to the grave.

Having said that, like I said James, I flip flop between thinking its worth it and not worth it. I really do love chocolates and you can really taste the difference between good chocolate and regular chocolate. And no, its not because I'm making lots of money. I wished I was, then I could eat even more chocolates because I have an ultra sweet tooth, I just love desserts.

I love your saying of "Whatever floats your boat". I guess it means the same as "Whatever works for you" but just sounds more fun.
